Plain Bearings
Basics - Calculations - Applications
Introduction
In cooperation with the Gesellschaft für Tribologie (GfT)
The efficiency and service life of plain bearings are the result of the interaction of the operating conditions, shafts, bearings, the bearing environment, and the lubricant used. Bearing damage and consequential damage can be avoided with correct bearing design. The goal of this seminar is to convey the basics for selecting suitable bearings, materials, and lubricants, methods for effective bearing design and analysis, and corrective measures to remediate bearing damage when it occurs.
Target Audience
Drive technology specialists and managers from research and development, design, calculation, maintenance, and repair
Main Topics
- Tribology of plain bearings
- Materials and lubricants for plain bearings
- Design methods
- High-speed plain bearings
- Plain bearings for specialized applications
- Plain bearing damage and its causes
And: RENK Group factory tour
Objectives
This seminar serves to answer the following questions:
- How do plain bearings work?
- Which materials and lubricants are used?
- What are the different types of plain bearings?
- What are suitable methods for the targeted design of plain bearings?
- How do plain bearings influence the dynamics of the drivetrain in high-speed applicatoins?
- What are the special characteristics of media-lubricated plain bearings?
- What are the types of gear damage and how are they caused?
