Introduction
The trend towards weight and cost-saving designs has considerably increased the importance of bolted joints. Extensive textbooks and the VDI 2230 Guideline, which has been developed over more than 40 years, are now available for the calculation and design of bolted joints. Unfortunately, these extensive calculation regulations often deter novices who are not familiar with bolt design.

Objectives
Participants will receive a compact and easy-to-understand overview of the design of bolted joints in accordance with the current VDI 2230 guideline. The course starts with longitudinally loaded bolted joints and then applies the knowledge gained to multi-bolt connections.
