Efficient gear design
FVA-GearDesigner can be used to design gear units with up to three spur gear stages. After providing sufficient data for input and output power, torque, and rotational speed, the gear unit is modeled using calculation algorithms derived from DIN 3990. Along with material characteristics from the materials database, default values for significant parameters (width, center distances, module etc.) are determined.

Design, calculation, and simulation of gear units made easy
The design process with FVA-GearDesigner begins by defining data for the overall gear unit. In the following steps, each stage is individually configured. The design algorithms generate the theoretical structure according to DIN 3990:1987. Data for power, input and output torque and rotational speeds, and the overall gear ratio of the gear unit are then determined.
The torque and overall gear ratio are used for additional parameters. The gear stages can be determined manually or automatically by the program itself. In principle, up to a maximum of three gear stages can be calculated. The gear ratio is based on the minimum overall volume.
