Geometry and Load Carrying Capacity
The FVA-Workbench can calculate the geometry and load carrying capacity of bevel gear pairs, including bevel gears with addendum modifications and offset bevel gears (hypoid gears). The gear geometry is generated from the machine setting data using manufacturing simulation.
The load carrying capacity can be calculated according to current national and international standards and preceding regulations. The wear resistance, efficiency, tooth forces, and the risk of flank fracture can also be calculated.
Tooth Flank and Tooth Root Stress
The local tooth flank and tooth root stress of spiral bevel and hypoid gears can be calculated.
The calculation is based on the influence coefficient method using the geometry generated by the manufacturing simulation. Deformations and deviations of the gearbox elements surrounding the gear are also considered.
The calculation consists of:
- Calculation of the gear geometry
(e.g. Klingelnberg, Gleason, Oerlikon, Hurth-Modul)
- Calculation of the meshing conditions
(actual measurement data can be considered)
- Calculation of meshing interference, circumferential backlash, and ductility
- Calculation of the load, pressure, and tooth root stress distribution using generalized influence values
- Calculation of load spectra
